Club Celebrate Season

30 July 2018

Faversham Strike Force FC’s youngsters enjoyed their day in the sun on Saturday (21 July) as they gathered at the Abbey School for their annual end-of-season celebration.

Due to the club’s ever-expanding roster of aspiring footballers – 250 players from age four upwards received medals, including those from the new all-girl Wildcat sessions – the event was for the first time an all-day affair rather than an evening presentation.

In addition to receiving medals and awards for players’, supporters’ and manager’s player of the year, and for sportsmanship, the youngsters and their families were able to enjoy a host of activities including bubble football, bouncy castles and a ‘speed gun challenge’ to test the power of their shots, courtesy of Total Sports Coaching.

“It was a fitting end to another great season for the Force,” said club manager Gary Axford. “The sun shone, the players got deserved recognition for all their brilliant efforts this season and everyone had a great time.

“As ever, it was only possible due to the selfless dedication of our volunteers and they also deserve a medal.

“The fact that our presentation event has evolved from an evening function to a whole-day event shows how Strike Force is growing and providing opportunities to an ever-increasing number of Faversham youngsters.

“It was particularly satisfying to see our Wildcats girls at the event for the first time and I have no doubt that they, along with all our other age groups, will continue to flourish next season.”
