Under 18 Kent League 2 - 1 Faversham Town U18's

Away | 07 December 2017

Strike Force U16's stepped up Thursday to play Faversham Town U18's in a competitive friendly at the Abbey School. The game started and Town began the game confident in possession however were limited to getting forward as Strike Force pressed hard in defence and made several good tackles at key moments. As the game wore on, Strike Force grew into the game and their passing was soon crisp and causing all kinds of problems with John Williamson and Romeen Gurung  i n  particular causing poblems for the Town defence.

After yet another inspired run from Williamson, the ball found Hayden Knowles out on the right hand side and his well struck shot was pinpoint perfect as it nestled into the bottom corner to give Strike Force the lead. Town continued to try and press and when they broke down the left-hand side, the defence allowed the winger to cut inside and hecurleda lovely strike into the far corner to give Town an equaliser just before half time.

The second half was a more dominant display for Strike Force as the defensive three of Zac Benfield, Craig Appleby and Tomasso Vitiello were faultless and with Kurt Dayson-Scott, Sam Bickersteth and Ben Treacher shutting down from the front, Strike Force were able to maintain possession in longer stints and when some fine link up play down the left hand side played in Treacher, his left footed strike was simply too good for the keeper and Strike Force took the lead. As the game closed out Strike Force won 2-1 and manager Mike Juden was full of praise for his side saying "Tonight was more about seeing our ability to compete with bigger opposition and how we as team manage the challenges we face, than the result. The boys stood up to the level of physicality and were great in defence when we had to be. We broke forward quickly and that lead to the winning goal.  The win was an added bonus on top of a very good performance from everyone involved."
